About Rinaldi Flea Markets
Hello, I have been in the antiques and appraisal business for 45 years, running my own auction firm, sharing what I learned on radio shows and organizing many charity auctions in my community.
My journey in the auction business has taken me from radio appraisal shows that reached 5 states to teaching antiques and collectables at the college level, in addition to "live" auctions at my business location. Along with furniture and collectable auctions we also sold equipment and vehicles for the NYS Bridge.
I also do appraisals for Insurance and Estate purposes. When Ebay came along, it seemed like a natural extension of my career. It all started in my early 20s, when I began working at a Pine Bush New York auction gallery under the tutorship of Colonel Peter Francese. After 4 years, I decided this was the life for me and graduated from the Missouri Auction School in 1976. That year, I founded Rinaldi Auctions in Millbrook, N.Y., conducting sales of everything from fine art to furniture, jewelry, clothing, rugs, equipment, appliances and vehicles.
I started my appraisal business about the same time, working for various attorneys, as well as my local Commissioner of Finance and Department of Social Services. Of course, I also met many individuals who were either settling a parent estate, needed to know the value of items for insurance purposes, or just wanted to find out more about a family heirloom. Since 1980, I emceed call-in radio shows on WHUD-FM and WLNA-FM, both in Peekskill, N.Y. and have been a guest appraiser on other stations. I also taught the Art of Antique Collecting at Dutchess Community College for three years in the mid 1990s. I am now semi-retired, though still doing appraisals, buying and selling-both privately and on Ebay-and conducting annual charity auctions for several local colleges. I also have worked at fund raising for the Alzheimer Foundation and the New Horizons Golf Classic, Special Olympics with proceeds going to help handicapped to live independently. Now the journey takes me to promoting flea markets. RINALDIFLEAMARKETS.COM will be a great opportunity. Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
